Pacific BMW had the amazing opportunity to host a two-day leadership workshop for some of our newer leaders. The program was co-sponsored by BMW and was facilitated by the Retail Performance Company (RPC), a consulting business that specializes in understanding data analytics, people, and organizational needs to produce real solutions for leaders in the workplace. Lorena Lee, Performance Coach & RPC representative, led the two-day workshop in a very engaging manner. She planned out an interactive agenda addressing different topics and assessments to provide insights and critical thinking. For example, she had our employees classify what tasks are important for a team, create action plans, analyze unconscious biases that they may have faced, and distinguish their type of leadership styles using the DiSC assessment.
Shop foreman of 10 years, Jason Reed, was a participant of the workshop and gained insightful takeaways that he was able to apply to his job, “Now being a better communicator, it’s much easier to have conversations with my team by asking more questions to make sure that I have a better idea of knowing what they’re talking about,” said Reed.
During the workshop, our employees got to see how different management styles work together by completing different tasks in smaller groups. In the individual activities, they classified what leadership characteristics they have encountered and how they felt about them, knowing what they like in a leader that they can apply to themselves. At the end of the session, leaders were awarded with a certificate of competition of the “Leadership 1.0: The Fundamentals” ending the day with new discoveries and insights that they can apply to their everyday-work lives.
